Kindergarten Computer Skills


1. Hardware and Operating Skills

__ The student can identify computer components such as: keyboard, mouse, monitor, speakers, headphone jack, volume control, printer. (explore)

__ The student can start, restart and shut down computer and monitor. (explore)

__ The student can use a mouse to point, click, drag, select and double click. (explore)
 
__ The student can locate program icons on the desktop and run programs by clicking. (explore)


2.  Keyboarding

__ The student can identify and use letter and number keys. (explore)

__ The student can identify the space bar, enter/return, and backspace/delete keys. (explore)

__ The student can type his/her first name. (explore)


3.  Word Processing

__The student can open a word processing program on the computer. (explore)

__ The student can enter and delete text. (explore)


4.  Paint/Draw/Graphics/

__ The student can open a paint or draw program from an icon on the desktop. (explore)

__ The student can select and use different paint and draw tools from the tool bar. (explore)
